Each year, our MartinConnects Grants Program accepts applications through the Community Foundation of Greater Huntsville for our areas of focus: veterans, women & children, STEM, wellness and homelessness. Our MartinConnects giving fund is contributed to by our generous team members and every donation is matched dollar for dollar by MartinFed. This year, we are overjoyed to announce we’re donating $35,000 across seven outstanding organizations! These organizations were chosen by our MartinConnects committee, comprised of MartinFed team members that share a unique care for the communities around us.
Huntsville Learning Center – $5,000 (Alabama)
The Huntsville Learning Center is a 501(c)(3) organization committed to providing at-risk children in the Huntsville area with the extracurricular support they need to succeed in school, build meaningful lives and careers for themselves, and become socially responsible members of society who are productive and competent lifelong learners.
Free to Teach – $5,000 (Alabama)
Free 2 Teach provides free school supplies to every public-school teacher in Madison County Alabama by mobilizing the community to ensure every child has access to an excellent education.
Caring Link – $5,000 (Alabama)
The Caring Link meets the needs of local students by providing essential items—including clothing, coats, shoes, school supplies, food assistance, and toiletries—through the establishment and maintenance of onsite Care Closets within Madison County, Alabama schools and surrounding areas.
Redstone Arsenal Sergeants Major Association (RSASMA) – $5,000 (Alabama)
The Redstone Arsenal Sergeants Major Association narrates the story of our All-Services Sergeants Major in order to enlighten the Public Sector, Private Sector, and Social Sector, of American Society, about our time honored all services Noncommissioned Officer Corps which is known as “The Backbone of the Armed Services.”
NextOp – $5,000 (Alabama/Texas)
NextOp is a non-profit organization engineered to meet the unprecedented employment challenges and opportunities facing military members and veterans today. NextOp recruits, develops, and places high-performing enlisted leaders into industry careers.
Geaux 4 Kids – $5,000 (Arkansas)
Project Geaux Bags aims to change the way kids enter protective custody by making that first night a little bit easier for everyone. Geaux Bags are filled with pajamas, toiletries and a comfort item to make that first night easier for everyone. These bags help both child and foster parent during the emergency transition by having the necessities and comfort items on hand.
Precious Preemies/Janice A Holley Ministries Inc. – $5,000 (Maryland/DC)
Precious Preemies was birthed out of our experience and is an annual fundraising program to support the community, specifically families with infants that are born prematurely.
These grants were presented at the Community Foundation of Huntsville’s Giving Tuesday presentation on December 3, 2024 at Torch Technologies in Huntsville, AL. MartinFed is dedicated to improving the communities in which our people live and work.
