MartinFederal and Teledyne Enter NASA Mentor-Protege Agreement

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (June 10, 2014) — Teledyne Brown Engineering, Inc. announced today that the Company has entered into a NASA Mentor-Protégé Agreement with MartinFederal Consulting, LLC, an 8(a) minority Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) and a certified Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB). This is only the second such agreement between a NASA/MSFC prime contractor and SDVO small business under the NASA Mentor Protégé Program.

Martin Federal has been recognized for the quality and delivery of its cybersecurity, technology integration, and enterprise and help desk services to the federal government. Teledyne Brown, as the prime contractor on NASA’s Mission Operations & Integration Contract, will mentor MartinFederal by providing engineering, technical and business development training.

Specifically, Teledyne Brown will mentor MartinFederal in simulation development for the International Space Station (ISS) Payload Ground Support Personnel, development of support console handbooks, and certification of personnel in Stowage operations, Human Factors, and Simulation support. The Company will also provide MartinFederal with proposal writing, marketing, and publication development training.

Teledyne Brown supports small business in many ways including being active in the Marshall Prime Contractor Supplier Council (MPCSC), MSFC Marshall Small Business Alliance, MSFC Joint Counseling Initiative sessions between small businesses and Prime Contractor representatives, and matchmaker events.

The NASA Mentor-Protégé Program encourages NASA prime contractors to assist eligible protégés, thereby enhancing the protégés’ capabilities to perform NASA contracts and subcontracts, fostering the establishment of long-term business relationships between these entities and NASA prime contractors, and increasing the overall number of these entities that receive NASA contract and subcontract awards.
