FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: March 15, 2018
Huntsville, Alabama: MartinFederal Consulting, LLC (MartinFederal) has received notification they have been awarded the 2017 Nunn-Perry Award. The prestigious Nunn-Perry Award, named in honor of former Senator Sam Nunn and former Secretary of Defense William Perry, was first awarded in 1995 to recognize outstanding Mentor-Protégé teams formed under the auspices of the DoD Mentor-Protégé program. This year’s Nunn-Perry Award winners were selected based on a protégé’s growth and development, the value of technical assistance provided by a mentor, program management and utilization of Historically Black Colleges and Universities, Minority Institutions, Procurement Technical Assistance Centers or Small Business Development Centers. The DoD Mentor-Protégé Program assists small businesses to successfully compete for prime contract and subcontract awards by partnering them with large companies under individual, project-based agreements. Successful mentor-protégé agreements provide a winning relationship for the protégé, the mentor, and the DoD by building the business capabilities of the protégés.
MartinFederal’s is a protégé under National Geospatial Agency’s (NGA) Mentor Protégé Program with Tec-Masters, Inc. Corey Martin, President and CEO, stated, “All of us at MartinFederal are humbled to be chosen for such a prestigious award. This is further proof our commitment to our government customer and our pursuit of excellence.” Steve Reed, Director of the Mentor Protégé Program at Tec-Masters, said, “Tec-Masters has enjoyed mentoring MartinFederal especially in the areas of technology transfer, strategic planning and leadership development. Mentoring small businesses like MartinFederal ensures the NGA and DoD has access to a strong group of small business contractors that have the expertise to effectively compete for Government contracts, which ultimately provides cost effective solutions to the Warfighter.”
