MartinFederal Consulting, LLC. Announces Contract Award With Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Explosives & Firearms

Huntsville, Alabama: MartinFederal Consulting, LLC. (MartinFederal), a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), focused on providing solutions based services to the Department of Justice, Department of Defense, Department of Energy, and other federal agencies, has been awarded a five-year contract to support the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives (ATF).

Under this new contract with the ATF, MartinFederal will provide technical, laboratory, and administrative support and resources necessary for the specialized scientific analysis of ATF’s Forensic Science Laboratories (FSLs) and its Fire Research Laboratory (FRL). Support services will be provided in Maryland, Georgia, and California.

About the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF):

The ATF is a federal agency under the Department of the Justice (DOJ) with approximately 5,000 employees located in the Washington, DC metropolitan area and various other locations nationwide. ATF enforces the federal laws and regulations relating to alcohol, tobacco, firearms, explosives, and arson by cooperating and working directly with others to:

  • Suppress and prevent crime and violence through enforcement, regulation and community outreach.
  • Provide fair and effective industry regulations.
  • Support and assist federal, state, local, and international law-enforcement agencies.
  • Provide innovative training programs in support of enforcement and regulatory functions.

ATF’s Laboratory Services Division (LS) is a part of the Office of Science and Technology (OST); it is comprised of four laboratories in three locations. The Forensic Science Laboratories (FSLs) are located in various locations across the United States; and LS employs approximately 100 personnel, including chemists, engineers, firearm and tool-mark examiners, fingerprint specialists, biologists, questioned document examiners, specialized-laboratory technicians and administrative-support personnel. ATF’s LS provides scientific and engineering services in support of ATF’s law-enforcement mission, which focuses on violent crime, with primary areas of ATF jurisdiction including criminal activity related to firearms, arson, explosives, alcohol and tobacco. ATF’s LS also encompasses the National Firearms Examiner Academy (NFEA) and the National Center for Explosives Training and Research (NCETR).
